Terms of service
Last updated 4 November 2026
The agreement between you and Marlon James-Edwards Ltd when you use Mr Edwards. It is written to be read, not to be waded through — if anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
01Who we are
Mr Edwards is an online English tutoring service for parents and carers of dyslexic learners aged 9 to 16, run by Marlon James Edwards Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 13625421), whose registered office is The Halley, Reliance Wharf, Hertford Road, London N1 5ET.
You can reach us at info@marlonjames-edwards.com or at our website, www.marlonjames-edwards.com.
02Who can use this service
The app is for adults aged 18 or over who are a parent, carer or guardian of a child aged 9 to 16. By signing up you confirm you are 18 or over and that you have the right to give consent for the child you are supporting.
You are responsible for anything done through your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Please tell us straight away at the email above if you think someone else has used your account.
03What you get with a membership
Every paid plan gives you access to:
- the Learn library of English strategies, videos and printables for ages 9 to 16
- the parent Community — stories, questions and live Q&A sessions with Mr Edwards
- the AI study coach, which answers questions about the strategies in the app
- 1:1 online sessions with Mr Edwards on plans that include them (Explorer has none, Achiever has two a month, Champion is weekly).
What is included can change over time as the service grows. If we ever reduce what your plan includes in a way that matters to you, we will tell you first and you can cancel without charge before the change takes effect.
04Prices and how billing works
Memberships are billed monthly in pounds sterling: Explorer £49, Achiever £118 and Champion £259 per month. Prices are shown on the plan page before you pay and include VAT where applicable.
Card payments are handled securely by our payment provider, Paddle Ltd, which acts as merchant of record for subscriptions sold through this app. We never see or store your full card number.
Your membership renews automatically on the same date each month. We will email you before any price increase, and you can cancel before the renewal if you do not want it.
05Cancelling, upgrading and switching plans
- You can cancel whenever you like from the plan page. There is no notice period and no cancellation fee.
- When you cancel, your access continues until the end of the month you have already paid for, and then stops. Nothing further is charged.
- If you move to a higher plan, the change takes effect straight away and you are charged a part-month amount for the difference.
- If you move to a lower plan, you keep your current plan until your next billing date, and the lower price starts then.
Refunds are covered in our refund policy, linked at the bottom of this page.
06The Community — your conduct
The Community is a safe space for parents. Please post with the same care you would want for your own child. In particular, do not post abuse or harassment, personal information about another family or child, advertising or self-promotion, or anything unlawful.
Posts and replies you publish are visible to other members, so please avoid sharing your home address, phone number or your child's school name. We can remove posts and, in serious cases, close accounts without a refund for the current month.
07The AI study coach
The coach is an AI assistant built on Anthropic's Claude model. It is trained to explain the strategies in the app and to suggest practice ideas. It can make mistakes, and it is not a teacher, a clinician or a diagnostician.
The coach does not diagnose dyslexia or any other condition, does not give medical, mental health or legal advice, and must not be used as a replacement for your child's school, SENCO, GP or specialist assessor. If your child is in distress or at risk, contact your GP, school or emergency services.
08Not a diagnosis, assessment or statutory service
Mr Edwards provides teaching and strategies. It is not an educational psychologist service, does not produce a statutory assessment, and does not carry out or replace an EHNA process. We can help you understand the language around access arrangements and support, but decisions about your child's statutory provision rest with your local authority and school.
09Your work and our materials
Lessons, videos, worksheets, printables and app design belong to Marlon James-Edwards Ltd. You may use them for the children you are supporting and share printed copies with their school, but please do not resell, republish or redistribute them.
Anything you post in the Community stays yours. You give us permission to display it inside the app so other parents can read and respond to it, and that permission ends when you delete the post.
10If something goes wrong
We aim for the app to be available at all times, but it may be briefly down for updates or for reasons outside our control. Sessions lost because of a fault at our end are rescheduled or credited.
Nothing here limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else we cannot lawfully exclude. Otherwise, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the current month.
11Suspension and ending your membership
You can end your membership at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts a child or member at risk, or uses the service unlawfully. Where we can, we will explain why and give you a chance to put it right.
12Getting in touch, and the law that applies
Complaints and questions should go to info@marlonjames-edwards.com. We aim to reply within two working days and will tell you how to escalate if you are not satisfied.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
